 Mount Karisimbi Hike (4,507m)

 Rwanda’s Highest Volcano – For the True Adventurer

Duration: 2 Days / 1 Night
Difficulty: Challenging
Elevation Gain: ~2,000m
Best for: Experienced hikers or those seeking a multi-day challenge

What to Expect:

  • A two-day adventure through bamboo forests and high-altitude alpine zones

  • An overnight camp just below the summit (at 3,700m)

  • Panoramic views of the entire Virunga range, sometimes all the way to the Congo and Uganda on clear days

  • A real chance to spot mountain gorillas, golden monkeys, or rare birds en route

Pro Tip: Be prepared for altitude—acclimatize with a Bisoke or nature walk the day before.

Don’t forget: warm clothing, waterproof gear, gloves, headlamp, energy snacks

Mount Bisoke Hike (3,711m)-The Crater Lake Trek – Perfect for a Day Hike

Duration: 1 Day
Difficulty: Moderate
Elevation Gain: ~1,200m
Best for: Beginner to intermediate hikers, nature lovers, time-limited adventurers

What to Expect:

  • A scenic one-day hike through lush rainforest and volcanic slopes

  • Stunning summit views of the crater lake nestled at the peak

  • Chance encounters with gorillas, birds, and exotic plants

  • A shorter and more accessible hike than Karisimbi, yet incredibly rewarding

Pro Tip: The trail can get muddy, especially during the rainy season. Wear proper hiking boots with good grip.
